Division: Divide It Up Puppies

Practice division with remainders by using Divide It Up Puppies.  First your students will estimate how many toys or biscuits can be divided among the puppies.  Then they will move the items from the workspace to distribute the items.  Now the students will determine if the remaining items can be cut up or shared.  Finally, the students will complete a math sentence to answer the math question.  Any remainders will be shown in fractional form.  Using the Divide It Up Puppies virtual manipulatives is a great way for students to visualize and use problem solving to answer the division problems.
